Through the help of her doctors, and the support of her family and friends, Laurie leads productive and full life. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew, and son, Brandon, as well as volunteering in the community.
Survivor Speaker - Cynthia Hastings

Heredity is a known risk factor for developing heart disease and diabetes, and a history of both run in Cynthia Hastings family. At 46 years-old Cynthia has already undergone several lifesaving cardiac procedures. Like many of you she is a wife, a mother, and is here to share her journey of living with heart disease.
Keynote Speaker - Donald J. Voelker, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FSCCT

Dr. Donald J. Voelker is an interventional cardiologist or a physician who is certified to treat problems of the cardiovascular system -- the heart and arteries throughout the body; who has special training in procedures to alleviate blockages in these arteries. Dr. Voelker is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology and Board Certified in Cardiac Computed Tomography.
He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of Arkansas for Health Sciences. He is Co-Cheif of Cardiovascular Services, Co-Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Medical Director of Cardiac Computed Tomography Services at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He has performed thousands of heart and vascular procedures.
