A Message from Our Chairs
We truly appreciate you taking the time to learn more about the American Heart Association and their mission of building healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The 2013 Heart Ball specifically focuses on the very serious issues of childhood obesity and what we, as a community, can do to reverse this growing trend. Studies now show that due to inactivity and obesity related illnesses, this could be the first generation of American children to live shorter than their parents.
All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association's ongoing mission to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The American Heart Association funds critical cardiovascular and stroke research, as well as public education and community programs such as establishing 911 access through cell phones, CPR training in local schools and businesses, placement of AED's in city buildings, fitness and health education for school children and the elderly, and much more.
The 2013 Heart Ball "Return to Southampton", is a coalition of compassionate individuals, families and businesses who aspire to make lasting change in our community and throughout the world. By joining this movement, you can be a part of our initiative to ensure our children are fit and healthy, develop the technology to correct congenital heart defects in utero, and take the steps necessary to reverse the growing number of overweight and obese children.
We look forward to seeing you at the 2013 Heart Ball "Return to Southampton", on May 11, 2013.
